· Severity: Major

· Notes for Consumers: Nicotine has been reported to enhance the effects of Regadenoson on the heart; an increase in angina-like chest pains, heart rate or a decrease in blood pressure may be noted. It is advisable for you to avoid Nicotine products or Tobacco prior to heart-related studies or heart ''stress tests'' where Regadenoson will be given. Discuss your drug regimen with your health care provider prior to any heart-related procedures.

· Notes for Professionals: Nicotine has been reported to enhance the cardiovascular effects of adenosine receptor agonists; an increase in angina-like chest pain, heart rate, or a decrease in blood pressure may be noted. While no special cautions are recommended for regadenoson, it may be advisable for patients to avoid nicotine products or tobacco prior to electrophysiologic studies or stress testing where adenosine receptor agonists will be administered.

Caffeine-containing Foods/Beverages

· Severity: Major

· Notes for Consumers: Regadenoson is used during heart testing. Generally Regadenoson is only used in a hospital or clinic. Caffeine may decrease the actions of Regadenoson. Discuss your Caffeine intake (including intake of coffee, colas, teas, or herbal supplements) with your health care provider prior to any procedures or examinations involving heart function.

· Notes for Professionals: Regadenoson may cause an increased coronary blood flow without regard to prior caffeine ingestion. Patients should avoid consumption of any products containing caffeine (including caffeine from foods and beverages such as coffee, green tea, other teas, colas, and chocolate) for at least 12 hours before regadenoson administration.
