Axitinib 1mg, Oral tablet
Grapefruit juice
· Severity: Major
· Notes for Consumers: Do not take Axitinib with Grapefruit or Grapefruit Juice. Side effects from Axitinib may get worse. Contact your health care provider if you experience diarrhea, increased blood pressure, rash or irritation on hands and feet, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, or other unusual effects.
· Notes for Professionals: Avoid administration of axitinib with grapefruit or grapefruit juice due to the risk of increased axitinib-related adverse reactions. Axitinib is a CYP3A4/5 substrate and grapefruit juice is a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor. Coadministration with another strong CYP3A4/5 inhibitor significantly increased the plasma exposure of axitinib in healthy volunteers.
