Food

· Severity: Moderate

· Notes for Consumers: It is best to take Griseofulvin with a meal.

· Notes for Professionals: Food can affect the oral bioavailability of griseofulvin. Microsize griseofulvin absorption may be enhanced by concomitant intake of a high-fat meal, but results have been variable.

Alcohol

· Severity: Moderate

· Notes for Consumers: Do not drink alcohol-containing drinks while taking Griseofluvin. You may experience increased side effects such as excessive sweating, flushing or rapid heart beats. If you notice any new or unusual reactions, contact your prescriber.

· Notes for Professionals: Some of ethanol's effects can be increased by griseofulvin. Patients can experience tachycardia, diaphoresis, and flushing.
